Future Rockstars of America or “FRA”, started off as a community of L.A. artists. The moniker was used loosely and through collaborative efforts, FRA produced events, mixtapes, interviews, and creative synergy. Although countless scenes have sprouted in LA over the years, FRA had a new frontier to explore: the internet. The happenings going on in LA were being documented, and now with Web 2.0 there existed a forum for local talent to be broadcast on a global scale. Diverging from traditional media, FRA began to explore the “new media”, interactivity being a revolutionary dimension.
In the fall of 2007, some of the key figures in the FRA community decided to take Future Rockstars of America to the next level. Officially molding FRA into a company, the founders dedicated their lifestyle to perpetuating the FRA ethos. With a couple of credit cards and small savings, the staff lived month to month, producing original content focusing on a diverse pool of talent – ranging from small local acts, to major label stars. FRA also launched with a monthly t-shirt, the clothing echoing the ideology of the community.
Fast forward to the present and you’ll see that FRA has expanded. Through organic inquiries and needs, FRA decided to create a new branch: The Agency. The FRA Agency now services clientele looking for interactive media solutions. In addition, FRA has also produced it’s first official clothing line, kicking off with the newly developed online store.
It’s been an amazing journey but there’s much to do. Future Rockstars of America will continue to represent and explore. It’s local talent on a global scale, it’s big name on a personal basis, it’s peer 2 peer, it’s the revolution baby. |
