Hey everyone! So in case you’re like who the F is this, let me introduce myself. My name is Enik Lin and I use to play for a band called Burning Tree Project (BTP). Now fast forward 7 years later to my new project: IAMMEDIC
|
The awesome band we all once knew and loved as “Burning Tree Project,” held their last show (indefinitely) at the local music venue, Chain Reaction in Anaheim this past Wednesday night. I arrived at the show a tad late and missed the first two bands play, (unprepared as usual), but I did manage to see Amely on stage and they sounded pretty good live. Most of the crowd hung out outside the place until it was time for BTP to step on stage and it was great to see supporters old and new, come out to support the guys. I haven’t been a fan of BTP since the beginning, but from what I remember, they always maintained good connections/relationships with their fans. I discovered these guys later on in my high school years, after an old friend recommended them to me. I have to admit though, that it took a few good tries to get used to their sound and style since it wasn’t at all what I was used to at the time. The process didn’t take long though, their music easily grew on me and now it’s just too hard to resist these guys. A huge reason as to why they became one of my favorite local bands, (not only through their music), was that they truly appreciated their fans and had such dedication for their music. Every show I went to, they never hesitated to greet me or start up a conversation. They were rockstars with awesome gravity-defying hair, without an arrogant rockstar attitude. Deep down, you knew they were just a couple of regular guys pursuing what they do best. BTP shows always had good vibes and it felt empowering to see folks from everywhere coming together to support a couple of humble guys just doing their thing. |
So yesterday was the first studio day for my new project IAMMEDIC with producer Ian Kirkpatrick. Like a dumbass, i forgot to bring a camera and document the entire thing so I’m going to have start shooting some vid next session. But man, we did some crazy stuff that i didnt even expect. I didnt even sleep well through the night because i kept running through alternate progressions, vocal melodies, and leads. The most exciting part is probably that people won’t be expecting the outcome of this ordeal. I think my next session will be this sunday. until then…. |
