Hailing from San Diego, afterschoolspecial is doing things. They just completed an EP and they’ve been on tour. What really attracts me to the band however is their genuine interest in developing a scene in SD. Instead of throwing the typical CD release party, afterschoolspecial teamed up with local artsters, The Dope Show (which produced art work inspired by the songs associated with the performing bands), and invited out all their friends from other local bands to bboys, to fans. A good mash up of rock heads and hip hoppers. Oh yea, and the music is dope! They got that raw energetic sound I love so much… they got a bit of that Quarashi sound to them. Stand out tracks: Future Rockstars of America, Bad Education. GYO!
