What a Monday. Had to do an all nighter, and a full day of design… but who’s whining?
Anyways, now that we’ve moved into downtown, I do my work facing a window that has a view of other buildings. Sounds bad, but there’s a lot of space inbetween so it’s really nice. There’s actually big windows circling our whole loft. We have curtains but we never draw them down so people can totally see us. I’m a bit weirded out by it, but I’m too lazy to draw down the curtains all the time. In fact as I type this someone in their respective building is staring straight back at me… “Hello!”
So my friend John swung by our place for the first time. He also picked up a “Union Liquor” shirt form our new line (hint hint). I grew up with this dude and let me say this: he can run. He’s got this thing for running, and for some reason gets happy at the thought of running non stop for miles. Yes miles. I keep telling myself and anyone who’ll listen that I’ll get back into shape… just not into John shape.

Later on that evening I headed out to NoHo to meet up with Touch and his man MDL. This dude is 18 years old and is already on the fast track to becoming Hollywoods hottest producer. The man has skills, if you don’t believe me go to his youtube site: http://www.youtube.com/mdlproductions

I had to let MDL know how cool his life is. He dropped out of high school, got his GED and has been pursuing the music biz 24-7. He hooked up with Touch (A&R from Def Jam) and still has that passion for music that only teenage life can produce. Can you imagine combining the fervor of garage rock with the skill set of a veteran producer? That’s MDL. Kudo’s to you man.
