Was on the edge of downtown LA so I decided to visit the home of film camp, Arowana Films. Arowana is responsible for/involved in pieces ranging from The Fast and the Furious, Finishing the Game, music videos for Lyrics Born, Jin the MC, and Far East Movement, and of course Kim Jong Il Jr.
Sat down and got to pick Evan Leong’s brain for a bit and bother Peachies. Both are working on a really interesting project… which is to remain secret for now. What I really like about Arowana is that they’re extremely adaptive. If they need to just grab a camera and shoot shit guerrilla, they’ll do it. If they need to grab a stand, boom mics, and shoot everything in a controlled studio, they’ll do it. The work always has a real edge to it that shows in the finished pieces… I think it comes from Arowana’s state of mind.

Woke up Tuesday with a lot on my mind… meeting with Koream, agency work, Cinema Musica event, and schmoozing. When that’s your “to do” list, I guess you can’t complain about work. First I headed over to Gardena to see the folks of Koream. Koream is a pioneer in Asian American media and is what many consider to be THE source of anything Korean American. It’s really an honor to be working with them (more of that in the future). If you’ve never been to the office, it’s a really cool space with wide open areas and pictures from many of their articles.
The staff is really welcoming and professional. Did I mention they’re all women? Somehow they’re all tall too. Read & Discuss → |
